Emilie first started in the field as a Social Service Worker in 2016, working in community mental health. She quickly found a deeper interest in providing psychotherapy to individuals aged 16- 60 in the private practice setting, either at her home office located in Sudbury, ON, or virtually.
Emilie is passionate about working with and treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, phobias, OCD, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, grief, and supporting clients through feeling stuck, stagnant, or adjusting to life changes. No formal diagnosis or assessments are required to access psychotherapy at this private practice. Should you have a question or concern about her being the right fit for your challenge, please contact Emilie for a free phone consultation add button.
Her process and approach to providing support and treatment comes from an accumulation of having a Masters in Counselling Psychology, certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as practicing interventions using mindfulness and meditation, Somatic Embodiment, and parts work. She continues to find inspiration and new skills through attending workshops and trainings, while also providing newer therapists and graduate students with clinical supervision.
Emilie has personal and lived experience as a parent, being in a marriage, identifying as Queer, with a love of plants and gardening, cooking, music, reading, being outdoors and in nature. She also enjoys learning about nutrition, herbalism, nature, and ways we can use our interests and hobbies to feel more fulfilled by our lifestyles.
